He is a former president of the Orange County Bar Association. Joe was named an Advocate by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, has been honored by Who's Who in American Law, and has served as Chairman of the Judicial Screening Committee for the Orange County Bar. He is a long time member of the NYS Grievance Committee for Lawyers, having been appointed and reappointed by the State's Appellate Court to oversee the ethics and discipline of attorneys throughout the 9th Judicial District. He consistently is named one of the best attorneys in  New York despite only representing accident victims.   He serves the community as the Walkill Town Justice.

The law firm traces its roots back to 1963. In that year, the HON. Joseph G. Owen moved his trial practice from New York City to Goshen.

Upon his retirement from the bench, State Supreme Court Judge Joseph G. Owen, joined with his son, Joe, to bring his more than 50 years of experience to help the firm’s injured clients. While on the state bench for nearly 25 years, he presided over numerous high profile injury cases. Prior to that, he was the senior partner of one of the Hudson Valley’s leading injury firms.
